November 14-15 – NFL

A reminder – my sports blogs will be for those who may not know a lot about sports but they want to know a few key things so they can partici[ate or at least be semi-involved in the sports talk with friends and co-workers:

Let’s start with the biggest talk of this past week… The firing of the Cowboys Head Coach.  This is definitely been the big buzz, so all eyes will be on the interim coach (Jason Garrett – Cowboys Offensive Coordinator) and his first debut as the Cowboys Head Coach this weekend.  They play the Giants on Sunday the 14th at 4:15pm-EST.

Another game to watch this weekend is the Cleveland Browns vs NY Jets – The Jets have been on fire they are in the top of their division with only two losses so far, but the Browns have really been putting their best foot forward.  It will be interesting to see if the Browns can keep this momentum going, especially against a team as strong as the Jets.

My favorite team – the Pittsburgh Steelers will be going against the New England Patriots.  Steelers are playing well, especially on defense, which is what they are known for, and Patriots look like they may have a few players out this weekend.  Should be a win for the Steelers – we will watch and see.

Happy Watching

Sports Knowledge Wanna Be

I have had a wonderful idea but did not know where to start.  I love sports, but I am not a stat fanatic or and ESPN fanatic.  I have the teams I like and I follow them a little more than casually.  I am not what people would call an extremely informed fan, meaning I don’t know the stats and I usually don’t learn about injuries until game day, etc.  I like football and baseball but that is about it.

In the last year I had decided it would be nice to have a location to find out the basics and most important information so that I can be a little better informed without having to spend my days watching the sports channels to muddle through all the information that I don’t care about.

In the months to come, I hope to offer such information to the casual fan.  Persons who may be interested in my coming blogs… spouses of sports fanatics, people who work in an office with sports fanatics… let’s face it anyone who spends time with a sports fanatic.  Have you ever felt that you wish you knew at least a little bit about what “they” are talking about?  Let’s try to get that accomplished.

Here goes nothing…
